ISRO’s next venture to be handled by students
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is planning to launch a satellite in May this year. And the most interesting factor of this venture is the complete project will be handled by the students only. This will be the first time ever, when students will develop an ISRO space venture solely. The estimated project cost will be around Rs.55 lakh.
However, ISRO was quite disappointed after the recent space venture on cryogenic engine. This was the unique technology that has been developed by the Indian scientists. But it could not end up its test successfully.
But despite the failure of its recent space venture, ISRO has shown confidence on Indian students.
A team of students from around seven engineering colleges in Bangalore and Hyderabad has developed the satellite and was named STUDSAT. ISRO has decided to put in the Low Earth Orbit around 680 kilometers above the earth. This will be placed there by ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. It will capture high-resolution images from space that can be used in further research.
