Jackson's doctor administered anaesthetic

Jackson's doctor administered anaesthetic Los Angeles  - Michael Jackson's private cardiologist Conrad Murray administered the surgical anaesthetic propofol to the late singer, broadcaster CNN reported, citing a source close to the Jackson family with knowledge of the police investigation.

Jackson died on June 25 of cardiac arrest. Results of a toxicology report are pending, and previous reports have said that Jackson was using propofol to sleep.

Los Angeles police, who are investigating Jackson's death, reportedly found propofol in the rented mansion where he was living at the time of his death, just days before the start of a planned comeback tour.

Murray has been interviewed by detectives, and police have searched his medical offices, CNN reported Monday. (dpa)
