JAL places orders for 15 jets with Embraer SA

Embraer-Japan-AirlinesNew Delhi, Aug 29 : Japan Airlines (JAL) has signed a firm order with Brazilian aircraft manufacturers Embraer SA for 15 jet planes, comprising the E170 and the E190 jets models. JAL has also enquired about an additional twelve jet options. The planes are scheduled to be delivered starting from 2015.

Embraer SA jets, or E-Jets as they are known, are designed from a double-bubble fuselage concept. This means that customers have more in-flight space compared to other jets of the same size. Additionally, E-Jets are powered with the reliable GE CF34 engines that produce less noise and offer a higher level of operational efficiency.

The E170 has a length of 29.9 metres and its width is 26 metres, with a seat capacity of 78 and a flight range of about 3,889 kilometres. The E190 has a length of 36.2 metres and its width is 28.7 metres with a seat capacity of 104 and a flight range of about 4,445 kilometres.

The introduction of the E-Jets will enable JAL to meet the demand of each route, which will help them to improve on time adherence and reliability. The airline is optimistic for expanding its regional network in an efficient manner to provide better services to the customers. (ANI)
