Jaya Shree Textiles mulling plan to further expand W.B. linen factory’s capacity Jaya Shree Textiles, a subsidiary of Aditya Birla Nuvo Limited, is mulling a plan to further expand its capacity at its West Bengal-based linen factory.

Rishra plant, which is located nearly 30 kilometers from Kolkata, is already undergoing a capacity expansion from 7 million metres. The ongoing capacity expansion is expected to complete by August this year.

S. Krishnamoorthy, president of textile division at Aditya Birla Group, said, "We are also proposing another Rs. 100-crore capacity expansion programme."

Krishnamoorthy was speaking to media persons on the sidelines of inauguration of the company's third `Linen Club' Fabrics exclusive showroom in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.

The company's seventy-six exclusive showrooms in the country offer a wide range of linen fabrics as well as ready-to-wear garments. The company is now planning to open an exclusive showroom each in Erode, Tirupur and the Union Territory of Puducherry.

The company focuses on the domestic market, but now it is also looking at exporting linen and garments to foreign countries like Sri Lanka and Malaysia.

Jaya Shree Textiles, which currently claims to have linen business worth nearly Rs 600 crore, expects the domestic linen market to grow to Rs 2,500 crore over the coming few years.
