Jessica Alba reveals how perception of female roles in films has evolved

Jessica-AlbaWashington, Aug 22  : Jessica Alba has revealed that the perception of female roles in films has changed over time, as there are a lot of different stories nowadays which revolve around women and even about women who support men.

The 33-year-old actress, who will be playing the role a lasso-swinging stripper who goes from damsel in distress to vengeance-seeking badass in ' Sin City: A Dame To Kill For ', said that her character Nancy Callahan loses it for a second, but then finds her strength and people get to see her personal evolution on how she becomes who she is, Huffington post reported.

She stated that the character becomes a warrior at the end of it, though not all the women are good, they're all powerful.

Alba added that she feels the roles have gotten better because there's more women that are showing they can open movies and have box office appeal, like Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lawrence, Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron, so she thinks there are more opportunities maybe than there were before for female leads in film.
