J&K Ministry Ready To Unveil Law On Violence Against WomenThe Jammu and Kashmir administration has decided to unveil a bill during the budget meeting of the state parliament for the protection of women against violence.

The decision was taken at the state's winter capital during a conference, which was headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

The decision was taken in the backdrop of various cases of strange demises of women in the state, attributed to nuisance of women and dowry demand by in-laws.

Abdullah guaranteed that the administration would take speedy action in such matters.

During Monday's cabinet conference, it was settled that the law ministry in consultation with the social welfare department will bring out a bill in the budget session that will start Feb 22. (With Input from Agencies)
