London, Oct 11: Angelina Jolie, who cut ties with her dad after his womanizing ended his marriage, says she is again in contact with her estranged father Jon Voight.

The actress is rebuilding her rocky relationship with her father after a long stand-off, reports thesun. co. uk.

"We're in contact now and writing letters. My parents gave me a strong social conscience as well as any acting genes I may have. Both my parents were very focused on helping other people and supported charities all their lives," said Jolie.

But she's hell bent on bringing her six kids up differently.

"I don't want them raised as children who have 'movie star' parents. I grew up around that myself and I want to make sure ours are removed from it," she said. (IANS)
