Jordanian firm arranged airlift of Lebanese voters to BeirutAmman - A Jordanian company affiliated with leaders of the Lebanese al-Mustaqbal group arranged an airlift of Lebanese voters from Amman to Beirut to take part in the Lebanese general elections which were conducted on Sunday, the daily Alarab Alyawm reported Wednesday.

The firm, which was not identified, "provided Lebanese voters with tickets for both directions of the journey as well as money to cover their personal expenses," the independent daily said.

Al-Mustaqbal group is led by Saad al-Hariri, a tycoon who is also leader of the pro-government alliance which won the majority of the seats of the Lebanese parliament.

Members of al-Hariri family have established several businesses in Jordan over the past few years with capital totalling billions of dollars.

Leader of Hezbollah, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, has charged that money was used to lure citizens to vote for the rival pro-West majority.(dpa)
