Madrid  - Real Madrid have sold more than 2,000 replica shirts of new signing Kaka, despite the Brazilian star not yet having a squad number.

According to the website of the Marca sports daily on Monday, Real have sold more than 2,000 Kaka shirts since his purchase from AC Milan was announced three weeks ago.

Real paid Milan around 65 million euros (91.4 million dollars) for Kaka, who on Sunday was voted best player at the Confederations Cup tournament, which Brazil won by defeating the United States 3-2.

Kaka, 27, will be presented by Real to the media on Tuesday night after flying in from South Africa, and his squad number will be revealed.

The presentation of Cristiano Ronaldo - signed from Manchester United for a world record fee estimated at 94 million euros - will be on July 6.(dpa)
