Former Indian skipper Kapil Dev's mother Mrs. Raj Kumari, who was suffering from health problems for a long time, died yesterday early in the morning at 5:00 am at her residence at Sector 27, Chandigarh.

The wife of late Ram Lal Nikhanj, Mrs. Raj Kumari died at the age of 85 years and she left behind three sons Ramesh Kumar Nikhanj, Bharat Bhushan Nikhanj and Kapil Dev Nikhanj and four daughters.

Kapil was in New Delhi and he rushed to Chandigarh after hearing news of death of her mother along with her wife Romi.

The cremation took place at 5 pm at Sector 25 of Chandigarh and Kapil's close friend Rakesh Jolly and former coach Dronacharya Desh Prem Azad were also present at the cremation of Mrs. Raj Kumari.
