Los Angeles  - Tom Cruise's wife is planning to get romantic - and not with her husband.

According to trade paper Variety, she is to executive produce and star in The Romantics, in which she will play a maid of honour in a comedy about eight friends who reunite for a wedding, only for chaos to break out when it emerges that two of them had designs on the groom.

Liv Tyler had been slated to play Holmes' role but dropped out for unspecified reasons. The film also stars Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman, Elijah Wood, Adam Brody and Jeremy Strong. (dpa)
