Siddhartha Basu, who heads Big Synergy Television Production Company, said that the fourth season of most popular show ''Kaun Banega Crorepati'', to be hosted by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will not have an eye on TRPs.

Putting media conjecture to rest, on July 7 Sony Television made announcement that the fourth version of the runaway hit show was on, with Big B as host.

Sony also disclosed that it had won over the franchise for the show- internationally famous as ''Who wants to be a Millionaire'' that is hosted in different formats internationally from other channels.

''TRP ratings are indicative of audience preferences taking a sample of 7,000 households only. This as best is an indicator, not judgment on a show's popularity in a country that has millions of households with television sets,'' Basu said.

Selection for short-listing of partakers is likely to begin shortly, with final selection rounds conducted from Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkota, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Nagpur. (With Inputs from Agencies)
