Kingfisher signs agreement to join 'oneworld' alliance
Kingfisher Airlines has become a member of 'oneworld' alliance. It has signed a formal agreement with the other members of this alliance. There are 12 other members in this 'oneworld' alliance. The existing members have welcomed the Indian aviation firm.
Kingfisher Airlines has signed the agreement at the World Air Transport Summit in Berlin. This contract was signed by Kingfisher Airlines' Chairman and Chief Executive Vijay Mallya. The Chairmen of the 12 other existing partners and member elect have also signed in this agreement.
There was a MOU between Kingfisher Airlines and the 'oneworld' alliance in the month of February this year.
There was a formal discussion between KFA and these members about the framework for membership. But now it has been confirmed with the signing of the agreement. However, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has also granted this firm to be a part of this alliance.
Earlier KFA had requested the Civil Aviation Ministry to provide authority to proceed. After the agreement, now the 'oneworld' will announce the plan of action soon.
