India's leading water management solutions company Kirloskar Brothers Ltd. (KBL) has acquired 90% shares of a South African company. The name of the firm is Braybar Pumps Ltd.

It is a wholly-owned subsidiary Kirloskar Brothers International B. V. As per the market experts this deal is going to help the Indian Inc. to strengthen its position in South African market. The company officials have also informed that Kirloskar Brothers Ltd. is looking forward to improve its market in South Africa.

So far as South African company Braybar Pumps Ltd. is concerned, it is in operation since 1980. It manufactures high head multistage pumps. Its pumps are used for dewatering in copper, coal and gold mines. It also produces rubber-lined slurry pumps.

Braybar Pumps is involved in repairing and servicing of pumps as well. The pumps at the mining industry are being serviced by this firm only.

As per the recent acquisition, Kirloskar Brothers Ltd. will provide supply and service base for the products of Braybar Pumps in the South African markets.
