Land Rover released refreshed versions of Range Rover Sport, Discovery

Land Rover released refreshed versions of Range Rover Sport, DiscoveryPremium auto maker, Land Rover has released a new refreshed 2012 version of its Range Rover Sport and Land Rover Discovery model with a highly-efficient new eight-speed gearbox offering improved fuel economy.

The company claims that the new gearbox will reduce Range Rover Sport’s CO2 emissions from 243g/km to 230g/km. The company ahs also increased the output of the engine from 245hp to 256hp. The eight-speed ZF gearbox is already available in the revised Jaguar XF model.

The two cars will also get a selection of new updates including stereo on both. Discovery will now feature Bluetooth, DAB and USB/iPod connectivity and its optional Harman Kardon system has been upgraded from nine speakers to 11. The premium system now has 17 speakers compared to 14 earlier.

The Range Rover Sport buyers will also get HSE Luxury pack along with 20-inch alloy wheels, extra leather detailing, a heated steering wheel and adaptive cruise control.

The buyers will now have the option to buy a seven-inch touchscreen entertainment system with Dual View technology.

"The enhancements to the 2012 Range Rover Sport will ensure this car retains its position as one of the most economical and dynamic high-performance SUVs on the market today," said Colin Green, managing director of Land Rover UK.

The company will launch the two models in October. Range Rover Sport will be priced from £48,795 and the Discovery 4 priced from £37,995.
