LTE-enabled iPad Mini and fourth-gen iPad now available in stores

LTE-enabled iPad Mini and fourth-gen iPad now available in storesIn an indication that Apple's LTE-enabled iPad Mini and its fourth-generation iPad have hit some carrier stores, AT&T and Sprint said in a Friday announcement that they are now carrying both the devices.

Though Verizon has still to announce the availability of the two new Apple devices, it was being speculated that the carrier - as well as Apple Stores - will also start carrying both the tablets in its stores on Friday. The Verizon website already shows the devices available for immediate shipping.

It was on November 2 that Apple released the Wi-Fi-only fourth-generation iPad and the iPad Mini, after unveiling both the tablets last month. At the time of the announcement of the devices, Apple had specifically mentioned that the LTE-equipped versions of the tablets will be delivered in "a couple of weeks" after the launch of the Wi-Fi-only versions.

While the LTE-equipped iPad Mini will be priced in the range of between $459 and $659, depending on the model, and will be available in black and white versions; the LTE-capable fourth-generation iPad will cost $629 for the entry-level model, and will go up to $829 for the high-end model.

With supply issues likely to affect the availability of the LTE-equipped iPad Mini and fourth-generation iPad, Sprint has already mentioned that it expects the devices to be available in "limited quantities" in its stores --- a situation which will probably be witnessed by other carriers too, given the overwhelming demand for Apple devices.
