Luminous has announced that it is going to enter into handset market. According to the company announcement it is going to invest more than 25 million dollars in this year and 100 million dollars coming financial year to introduce new handsets in the Indian market.

The New Delhi based power and energy saving company Luminous is going to launch seven fresh models of handsets within May of this year under another entity named as Wynn Telecom. All its models are going to support dual SIM starting from a price range of Rs 5,000. Luminous is expecting to be in list of top three Indian handset brands within the next one year.

Chairman Wynn Telecom, Rakesh Malhotra has informed that the initial investment of the company will be about $25 million. This will be invested for business, product and development.

The manufacturing plant will be in Himachal Pradesh. Company is going to offer three varieties handsets.

The utility phones will be having long battery life and multi language support, while the upgrade phones having camera facilities and video player option. The youth series phone will have Qwerty keypad, internet messenger, multimedia and social network application.
