Maoists blow up school in Bihar, clash with policePatna, Oct 21 : Maoist guerrillas Wednesday blew up a government run primary school in Bihar. In a separate incident, an encounter took place between police and Maoists, officials said.

Maoists used dynamite to blow up a government run primary school in Gerua village in Banka, 170 km from here, Wednesday morning, police officers said.

In a separate incident, officials in Gaya district said that an encounter took place between police and Maoists in a forest under Barachatti police station. Acting on a tipoff, police clashed with over 300 Maoist guerrillas, who had gathered in the forest. Police claimed they killed 10 Maoists in the encounter, official sources said.

Police officials said three Maoists were arrested after the encounter. (IANS)
