Mazda – latest company to recall vehicles in the U.S.
If the recalls announced by Toyota, Honda, GM, Hyundai et al weren't enough, Mazda has decided to make company to its counterparts by recalling over 12,300 CX-9 crossover models over potentially overheating seats.
The company said that in some CX9s equipped with electrically heated seats, the circuit can sometimes overheat and may fail dues insufficient electrical grounding.
While Toyota is still at the top in the list of recalls done in the recent past but experts believe that the competition is just trying to rectify its mistakes by announcing their recalls riding on the back of world's largest automaker. The incident came into notice after a dealer complained that the heater was still on even after pulling off the ignition.
The recall rail started with Toyota announcing its massive recall of more than 8 million units due to a fault in the brake pedal. The bandwagon was soon followed by companies like Honda, GM and Hyundai. Though, Akio Toyoda, President, Toyota Motor Corporation has shown deep regret about the incident, but the company has been paying a price for the same. Toyota filed a dip of 10% in unit sales in the month of February.
