 Microsoft targets Gmail and Yahoo with new upgraded HotmailMicrosoft is now upgrading its mail service Hotmail to challenge its old rivals Yahoo and Google. Microsoft has also planned to get pass the Google docs and the update of Hotmail will allow the users to view and also edit the sent document via web versions of its Office software.

Other improvements are about the security improvement by spam filtering and the phishing attacks. Hot mail is the biggest e-mail service provider all over the world but now-a-days it is facing so much competition, especially in US. A research has shown that Yahoo mail is mostly providing its free e-mail service in US.

Microsoft's Hotmail holds second position and Google's Gmail service in third position but it is capturing the market rapidly. One of the directors of Windows live has said that all the changes were made to help the users spending time in it. People can manage their personal life by the e-mail accounts. The inboxes of the accounts will be updated frequently with the updates from social networking sites, snaps of friends, shipping details for goods and videos. Microsoft is also targeting Google with the Office 2010.
