London, July 23 : Federal investigators from the Drug Enforcement Administration raided Michael Jackson's personal physician Dr Conrad Murray's offices for investigation related to the pop legend's death.

DEA agents were joined by the Los Angeles Police Department with a warrant to search Murray's work places in Houston, Texas, the Telegraph reports.

Conrad's spokesperson said the raid was "a surprise to us and it was a surprise to the attorneys".

The investigation is apparently based on Jackson''s use of the drug Diprivan, a strong anaesthetic commonly known as Propofol that was found in the singer's home.

But Murray's lawyer, Ed Chernoff has remained silent on suggestions that his client prescribed the dangerous drugs to Jackson.

The police had questioned the physician, who was present at Jackson's Los Angeles home when the singer died of apparent cardiac arrest, in the recent past.

The cops had marked certain inconsistencies in his treatment of the singer in his final moments, like the apparent delay in alerting the emergency services after Jackson stopped breathing, and why he attempted to resuscitate the star on a bed when it is basic medical practice to perform CPR on a hard surface.

However, Chernoff had said before the raid that his client should not be looked as a crime suspect since he was giving his full support to help solve the case.

He said: "The coroner wants to clear up the cause of death, we share that goal. Based on Dr Murray's minute-by-minute and item-by-item description of Michael Jackson's last days, he should not be a target of criminal charges." (ANI)
