Mongolia's ruling party frontrunner in early election returns

Ulan Bator - The Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) is the front runner in early returns Monday from the parliamentary election.

According to the early estimates, the ruling MPRP have garnered 40 to 50 of the 76 seats in the State Great Khural, or parliament, after being in a dead heat with the rival Democratic Party going into Sunday's elections.

Mongolia's election commission said about 74 per cent of 1.5 million registered voters cast their ballots Sunday. (dpa)
