Monsoon to remain active in western IndiaThe western coast of India is experiencing heavy rains, and the entire region has been completely engulfed by the monsoon. The Konkan-Mumbai region experienced exceptionally heavy rainfall during the last 24 hours.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) and international weather agencies have forecast moderate to heavy rainfall, as the monsoon may remain active over these regions during the next three days.

Meanwhile, Gujarat's Junagadh district experienced heavy rainfall, which flooded the streets, snapped road links and cut villages' connectivity with remaining parts of the country. The administration called the army to arrest further worsening of situation.

However, the southwest monsoon remained feeble in the northern region in last 24 hours. Rajasthan and Delhi received some rain, but the regions of Punjab, Haryana and parts of Uttar Pradesh remained almost rain deficient.

However, rains in the neighboring regions kept the temperature below normal at many places in Punjab and Haryana. Karnal in Haryana recorded maximum temperature of 31.4 degrees, while Hisar recorded 36.5 degrees, remaining comparatively warmer.

The temperature in Ludhiana in Punjab settled at 34 degrees, while maximum temperature in Patiala was recorded two degrees below normal at 33.4 degrees Celsius.
