London, Nov 12 : Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman is all set to receive a top honour for his contribution to cinema at the 21st Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival in California.

The Oscar winning actor will be given the prestigious Career Achievement Award for Acting at the festival''s award ceremony January 5, 2010, at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

"The Palm Springs International Film Festival is honoured to present Hollywood legend Morgan Freeman with the Career Achievement Award for his large and extraordinary body of work and his many memorable performances throughout the years," the Daily Express quoted festival chairman Harold Matzner, as saying.

The Awards Gala will mark the begging of the festival which will continue till January 18. (ANI)
