Motorola finally sees growth
After three years of continuous decline in sales, Motorola Inc. is finally set to see some good days. And if the words of Co-Chief Executive of the company are to be believed then it will also think of acquiring companies. But for that, the firm is waiting for its handset business to spin-off as a separate unit.
In a recent interview to Bloomberg, Brown said that the once Motorola becomes independent in 2011, it will surely go-ahead with inorganic growth.
The sectors, he added, where the takeovers are possible are security and surveillance.
The once very profitable company has seen a continuous and substantial fall in its sales and also profit. But now, it is all set to capitalize the rebound that it has made.
Most of this has been possible since the customers who had postponed their orders are now buying mobiles. Also there has been greater spending by the government.
As per the data given by Motorola, sales at its enterprise mobility business have gone up by 6 per cent to reach $1.69 billion.
Post the news, the shares of the company went up since it managed to out-perform the analyst expectations.
