The Railway Minister of Bangladesh, Mojibul Haque, expressed his delight with this project, and said that it would be of great help to his nation.

"It is a project, which has now been introduced by honourable President of India and by honourable Prime Minister of Bangladesh. This is a very successful project. This is a very viable project for the people of Bangladesh and for the railways of Bangladesh. This project will help us in the railways sector," said Haque.

"We hope this project will be successful for the benefit of the people of Bangladesh. We are very much grateful to the people of India and the Government of India for helping for this project," he added.

The wagons have been supplied under the $800-million line of credit that India has extended to its neighbour.

The loan agreement was signed on August 7, 2010 in the presence of the then Finance Minister of India Pranab Mukherjee, who is presently the President of India.

Total 11 projects of Bangladesh Railways with an estimated cost of USD 629.35 million have been taken in hand and two waiting for inclusion under LoC (Line of Credit). (ANI)
