‘My Name Is Khan’ Breaks One-Day Sales Record For Bollywood Films In USEarning $761,000 on Sunday, the highest one-day earning ever for any Hindi movie in North America, Karan Johar's "My Name Is Khan" is on a record-hitting spree at 'BO'.

In the starting, SRK-starrer was likely to go down by 7% over Saturday to $682,000. However, it did well on Sunday making $761,000 for a 4% surge.

The Fox Searchlight release's revised opening weekend estimation for February 12-14 now stands at $1,939,000, still a new record high for a Bollywood flick beating up the $1,764,131 of 2007 film "OSO."

MNIK averaged a stellar $16,158 from 120 movie halls across US as well as Canada in just three days.

Movie halls across US reported sold-out shows and have had to turn viewers' away.

"MNIK" is approximated to earn $336,000 on Monday, Presidents' Day, taking the estimated 4-day opening weekend digit to $2,275,000.

This makes MNIK the best Hindi movie ever to hit the $2,000,000 mark hitting the earlier record of 5 days set in Dec 2009 by Aamir-starrer "3 Idiots" which earned $2,149,227 in five days.

MNIK also produced the maximum per-theatre average of any flick in North American release this weekend. (With Input from Agencies)
