Negligence in blood transfusion causing AIDS

Negligence in blood transfusion causing AIDSAn act of sheer negligence caused the children a pain for lifetime. What seemed to be an easy transfusion led to cause a severe problem - AIDS. In Rajasthan, due to carelessness the blood of an HIV positive patient was transfused into patients suffering from thalessemia.

When six of the children were detected HIV positive at the Umaid Hospital of Jodhpur, Rajasthan Authorities came in knocking the door to ask the reason for the act.

It was also observed that, to do away with the accusations the hospital authorities stated that HIV infection might have been acquired from somewhere else. Corroborating the above Hospital Superintendent Dr D. R. Dabi commented that the blood transmission system imposed by NACO (National Aids Control Organisation) may not be foolproof this time.

However, the blame game is a vicious circle in which trapped at this moment are probably five or six innocent children. Those kids already have a medical condition of thalassemia, an inherited blood disorder, to add to the sufferings they have AIDS now.

It's the casual approach which led to these circumstances. Hospital authorities should not be left without penalizing instead it should be put in their mind what sufferings are.
