New OpenOffice boasts improved graphics

Hamburg  - The OpenOffice project has released version 3.1 of its free office software package. One of the headline changes in OpenOffice 3.1 is anti-aliasing, which provides better reproduction of graphics. Graphics also now appear in a semi-transparent form when moved around, the developers report.

Other improvements include temporary locking of documents when multiple users are working on them simultaneously across a network. Comments in the commentary fields can also be replied to directly, which provides better clarity. The download is available at http://www.openoffice.org. (dpa)
