Niraj lifts the SBSC title

Niraj lifts the SBSC titleNiraj Khemka has won the State Billiards and Snooker Championships (SBSC) title for the second time after defeating Manish Jain in the final at the Bengal Rowing Club on Sunday.

Niraj won the senior title by defeating Manish by 4-2 as Manish was once again ill-fated, who lost the final for the third consecutive time.

Niraj started the match on a negative note as he lost the first two frames to Manish but he came back strongly to win the next four frames in a succession to clinch the title.

After a shaky start, Niraj scored a break of 62 in the fifth frame, which was just one point behind the highest of 63, which was produced by Akram Khan.

Overwhelmed by this title win, Niraj said that it was just like a dream run for him in the tournament, and he was anxious during the match but managed to win the title once again after two years.

Niraj and Manish will represent Bengal in snooker while Akram Khan and Aamer Hussain, the finalists in billiards, will represent Bengal in billiards in the upcoming National billiards and snooker championship, which will be held at Agra from September 14 to October 4.
