National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT-R) has signed a MoU with the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, to establish a graduate fellowship scheme in various engineering disciplines.
Under the arrangement, the students will be admitted in the M Tech programme and some best students will be given a job in the Atomic Energy department directly while continuing his education.
In addition, the selected students will get Rs 20,000 as allowance instead of Rs 8000 per month.
With the latest move, NIT-R has become the first in the state and seventh institute in the country to sign such MoU with the DAE.
Earlier, six IITs had already signed such type of MoUs to boost its research activities.
