eBay recreating Skype’s softwareA dispute between Skype and Joltid Ltd over the technicalities of the system has been hold Skype back from turning into a separate publicly traded company.

The core technologies which are used by the company to connect people are claimed by the Joltid Ltd, which is controlled by Skype's original founders.

Joltid Ltd said Skype had breached license agreements by altering software codes.

In case eBay, Skype's owner loses the right to original software, it may have to lock the company.

It may be noted here that trial has been scheduled for June 2010.

So until June 2010, the IPO is on the back burner.

So eBay has started working on recreating Skype's software, which can be named "Frankenskype" or "Skypenstein" by eBay.

However, the company fears that new software may cost much or become unsuccessful.
