VMware and Salesforce joint effort releases VMforce JV
According to the sources, it has been confirmed that VMware, the desktop virtualisation firm and the cloud-concept based Salesforce. com have joined hands to roll out the latest cloud based application called VMforce.
VMforce is a Java application aimed at enterprise usage based on similar cloud based concept. It is believed that it offers direct competition to IBM and Oracle. This cloud based java application offers alternate solution to on-premises servers such as IBM's WebSphere and Oracle's WebLogic.
Anshu Sharma, the vice president of product management at Salesforce. com stated in his blog that VMforce service will be an exclusive service which will allow every Java developer to write applications that can run in the cloud on top of this it will provide a Java deployment which is pre-integrated with a relational database allowing full-text search engine, reporting and analytics. IN simple words, it will help integrate all the powerful traits in their products.
Features such as social networking access, feed sharing, content sharing, on-screen chat and status updates on a mobile device will quite be a possibility with this device, further confirms Sharma.
