Notebooks based on Google Chrome’s OS available under $400
The upcoming notebook platform based on Google Chrome OS will be available in a price range of $300 to $400, stated Google's CEO, Eric Schmidt.
At the Google's Atmosphere Cloud Computing Forum, Schmidt said that the forthcoming era shall witness a "completely disposable" mobile hardware technology. This system will be based on smartphone-grade hardware that boots up in seconds and will use the cloud for storage, HTML5 for enhanced security and offer all the facilities what competition can offer at a much competitive rate.
Schmidt further added that this development will take the world by surprise and at the same time shall make Google emerge as a strong competitor to Windows, Linux and MacOSx.
The statements made at the conference reflected a similar situation when Larry Ellison, Oracle's CEO, 15 years ago pronounced a new breed of thin clients and a new paradigm hovering around the concept of Network Computing.
