EIH to rethink its project in KarnatakaEIH Ltd, the flagship firm of the Oberoi Group, has said that it will rethink its decision to implement a plan in the Kabini jungle of Karnataka as the project faces uncertainty following an order by the Supreme Court that banned all tourism related activities in core areas of the tiger reserve forests to protect tigers.

The company's Kabini jungle lodge project is facing uncertainty as the apex court issued the order t protect the tiger habits from the affects of tourism related activities. The company will take a decision on the project soon.

EIH Ltd vice chairman Mr. S. S. Mukherjee has said that the company will rethink the Kabini jungle lodge project as it is located within the tiger reserves. The company was planning to build an 18-room lodge near the Bhadra Tiger Reserve.

Chairman P. R. S. Oberoi has said that the company has already constructed staff quarters at Kabini but the construction on the lodge has not yet started. "There will be next hearing at the end of this month. Hopefully, there will be no restrictions on tourism in the tiger reserves," Mr. Oberoi said.
