Nokia’s new Windows 8 handsets generate positive buzz from tech press and blogsThe unveiling of two new colorful Windows 8-based smartphones by Nokia, at a September 5 press event in New York City, not only underscored impressive handsets, but also generated instant positive buzz from the tech press as well as blogs.

The introduction of the two handsets - the Lumia 920 and the Lumia 820 - at the event chiefly had the executives from Nokia and Microsoft drawing the audiences' attention to the key features of the devices. The executives highlighted the Lumia 920 in particular, as the handset is largely being considered the flagship Windows Phone 8 device.

With Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer terming the unveiling of the Windows 8-based Lumia smartphones as an "important milestone," Nokia and Microsoft executives distinguished the new Lumias from the other smartphones by pointing to their noteworthy features, like an advanced camera, wireless charging, and high-speed LTE and near field communications (NFC) capabilities.

The early reviews about the highly-impressive Nokia's forthcoming Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 handsets were very upbeat, with the tech press and blogs raving about the devices almost immediately after their formal unveiling.

In an evident substantiation of Nokia CEO Stephen Elop's statement that the Lumia 920 is probably the "most innovative smartphone" in the world, IDC analyst Will Stofega said that the handset includes "all the items that people are talking about that are future facing that are here today"; and added: "The technology and packaging, I think, are really, really compelling."
