NSW Government will prison people smugglers- announced by Keneally New South Wales Government is asked to prison people smugglers as they have rooms to accommodate these prisoners, announced by Kristina Keneally.

It is for the first time that New South Wales State will hold people smugglers in their jails.

The announcement is made when Australia had refused to take any more people smugglers into its jails then Commonwealth has asked the NSW Government to house the prisoners.

Ms Keneally is discussing with Federal Government about taking a share of convicted people smugglers and she also said there is no harm to keep people smugglers in NSW jails if they have room in its prisons.

On the contrary, New South Wales Opposition said that their jails are at par and does not have any rooms for people smugglers.

NSW Shadow Attorney General Greg Smith said that NSW does not have enough sources to bear the expenses of people smugglers as it cost around $31000 a day for one prisoner.

He also said that NSW has already struggling with the expenses incurred in its state Jails and it is not acceptable to state to bear the extra cost of more prisoners.
