Orchid Chemicals secures nod from USFDA for Sumatriptan Succinate

Orchid Chemicals secures nod from USFDA for Sumatriptan Succinate Drug firm Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals has informed that the company has received final nod from US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its drug Sumatriptan Succinate tablets.

The drug is generic version of GlaxoSmithKline PLC's Imitrex, which is used for the treatment of migraine attacks.

Orchid Chemicals further stated in a release that it will sell the sumatriptan succinate tablets in the strengths of 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg.

It should be noted that earlier this week, two other well-reputed pharmaceutical firms -Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. and Ranbaxy Laboratories has also received final approval from the regulator to sell the generic version of Imitrex.
