Oz spinner Hauritz working to improve his doosra

Oz spinner Hauritz working to improve his doosraLondon, Nov. 24 : Australian off-spinner Nathan Hauritz has revealed that he''s got a doosra, but is not confident about using it in a game.

"I can do it in the nets, I haven''t tried it in a game. I need to really land it consistently in the nets first before I can get out there with it. I just don''t have the confidence," Fox Sports quoted Hauritz, as saying ahead of this week''s first Test against West Indies in Brisbane.

Traditionally, off spinners bowl the delivery out of the back of the hand and quite often end up throwing when they do.

Johan Botha''s has got him into trouble, so has Harbhajan Singh''s. And Muttiah Muralidaran''s is the most controversial ball in cricket.

“I don''t flick mine with my finger, I try to use my wrist a little bit more, but it hasn''t got a great deal on it at the moment. A tailender might be deceived by it; that''s about all,” he said.

He has been on the road for almost the whole year with the side and says the regime of travel-train-play leaves little room for experimentation with deliveries.

"I guess in a way it has turned out to be good. It would have been fantastic to play because it turned out to be a fantastic wicket to bowl on, but I guess out of it opportunities might come up a bit more,” he said.

"I don''t know, there''s obviously wickets where they are not going to play a spinner, but maybe for the development of us we have got to play on these wickets and learn as much as we can. You can''t hide us, we''ve got to do it one day," he added. (ANI)
