Pak authorities yet to register case against Sufi Mohammad

Pak authorities yet to register case against Sufi MohammadIslamabad, July 30 : Even after four days arresting Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Muhammadi (TNSM) chief Sufi Muhammad, the Pakistani authorities are yet to register criminal case against him.

Sources said Mohammad, who was arrested along with his two sons Rizwanullah and Ziaullah on Sunday, has been kept under `protective custody', and a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was verifying his role in insurgency in Swat and Malakand Divisions.

The finding of the JIT would only determine action against him, The Daily Times reports.

"We are waiting for the JIT findings and a decision on registering a criminal case against him or otherwise would be made once that happens," an Interior Ministry source said. (ANI)
