Pakistan denounces suicide attack at Indian embassy in Kabul

Pakistan denounces suicide attack at Indian embassy in KabulIslamabad  - Pakistan's foreign minister denounced Monday's suicide bomb attack near the Indian embassy in Kabul that left 44 dead and more than 100 injured.

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi condemned the blast "which resulted in the loss of precious lives," a statement said.

The minister repeated Pakistan's condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

The Afghan government indirectly pinpointed Pakistan, which it believes harbours Taliban and al-Qaeda insurgents launching cross- border attacks into Afghanistan.

"Terrorists, in cooperation with some secret agencies in the region, carried out this attack," Afghan Interior Ministry said in a statement, which was taken by many as pointing finger at Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Indian Defence Attaché Brigadier R Mehta and political counselor V Venkat Rao were among those killed in the blast. (dpa)
