Paul Fisher steps down as chief of IAB

Paul Fisher steps down as chief of IABPaul Fisher has resigned from the post of Chief Executive Officer of Australian online industry body Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and is likely to leave the institution in early
2013.

Fisher has led the IAB when it was looking for preferred supplier to standardise online metrics for the whole advertising industry in the country. The elaborate process concluded with the selection of Nielsen as the successful supplier. Colmar Brunton with Gemius, ComScore, Roy Morgan Research with Effective Measure, and Vizisense had also participated in the process.

IAB Australia chairman Mark Britt said in a press release: "Paul has been a champion for the digital industry through a huge period of transformation. At the helm of IAB Australia he has consistently delivered on very ambitious plans and as a result IAB Australia now has a team of very senior and experienced executives in place who will oversea the continued growth and development of our industry."

Mr. Britt also said that the IAB Australia has identified the focus areas for the coming year and it will work on major issues like self-regulation and mobile advertising in a collective manner. During the coming months, several firms will aim at being successful under the next round of the IAB online metrics and Nielsen will work hard to retain its position.

Mr. Fisher will now work as Nielsen's managing director of media in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa and will also be responsible for Nielsen's range of media measurement solutions in the region.
