Lahore, Oct 2 : Former Pakistan captain Aamir Sohail reckons the International Cricket Council (ICC) ranking system is “not error-free” and the method of awarding points should be reviewed to have an accurate system.

Pakistan is currently ranked fourth in the ICC ODI team rankings released on September 30, while Australia tops the list followed by India and South Africa.

Lahore, Sep. 17 : Former Pakistan opening batsman Aamir Sohail has backed tainted fast bowler Mohammad Asif’s inclusion in the team for the Champions Trophy and said the team management must play him in the tournament.

Referring to reports that the team management is apprehensive about playing Asif in the eight nation tournament, Sohail said Asif is Pakistan’s best opening bowler.

Lahore, July 22 : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has accepted Aamir Sohail’s resignation and appointed former Test cricketer Haroon Rashid as the new Director for Game Development.

“Aamir, director game development, has tendered his resignation and PCB chairman Ijaz Butt has accepted it. Former batsman Rashid will be the acting director game development with immediate effect,” The Daily Times quoted a PCB spokesperson, as saying.

Sohail, who submitted his papers on Monday, saying he was not getting ‘job satisfaction’ in the work he was assigned by the PCB.
