London, Apr 29 : American-Indian actress Ayesha Dharker is set to quit `Weatherfield' - just 6 months after joining.

The 31-year-old former Bollywood star, who plays Tara Mandal on the hit show, will leave next month.

Her final scenes on the show will see her cheating boyfriend Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) "humiliated on a grand scale", the actress revealed.

"I've enjoyed playing Tara because she's different to me," The Sun quoted Dharker, as saying.

Dharker has previously appeared in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Doctor Who. (ANI)

London, Mar 30 : British-Indian actress Ayesha Dharker showed off her daring side when she saved one of her young co-stars from drowning in a fast-flowing river.

The 31-year-old actress revealed that she was shooting for film titled The Terrorist, where she and a 13-year-old actor had to swim through a fast-flowing river.

It was only when the director said "cut" that the actor, called Vishwas, revealed he could not swim and began to panic.
