West Indies skipper Chris Gayle has won the toss and opted to field first in the first one day international match against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne on Sunday.
Australian team has made two changes in the team that played against Pakistan in the last ODI at the Perth. Adam Voges and Clint McKay have been dropped while Shane Watson and D Bollinger have been included in the Australian squad.

Chris Gayle, leading the West Indies team in the second test match of the series against Australia has scored a tricky ton, while going against his arrogant batting temper. Australia knocked out three wickets before the tea time but Chris Gayle managed to stick on the crease and add hundred and three runs to his team's total.
Gayle had a best of 71 runs against Australia in the year 2003. Now this time leading the team as captain, Gayle steered the team into a strong position, from where they can smell the victory. Gayle hit 12 handy boundaries, all of them well timed drives along the ground through the leg side or straight back past the bowlers.

Melbourne, Nov 30 : West Indies captain Chris Gayle has slammed the newly introuduced vedio referral system, saying that the new technology is still not fool-proof.
The Umpires' Decision Review System (UDRS) has come into effect in the ongoing Test series between Australia and West Indies and New Zealand and Pakistan.
The new referral system has been upgraded after captains pointed out loopholes in technology when it was first introduced last year.

Gayle has missed practice games ahead of the Frank Worrell Trophy to attend his sick mom, and arrived back in Brisbane on Wednesday morning barely 24 hours before the three-Test series opener gets underway.

Sydney, Nov 25 : West Indies skipper Chris Gayle has vowed to score a century for his ill mother in the first Test of the Frank Worrell Trophy starting Thursday.
Gayle''s mother, Heazlyn Gilroy, was admitted to the Medical Associates Hospital in Kingston last week with a heart problem, forcing Gayle to immediately rush back from Brisbane to Jamaica and putting in doubt his participation in the first Test.
However, his mother made a speedy recovery and was released from the hospital on Saturday, allowing the 30-year-old to fly back.

Brisbane, Nov 18 - West Indies captain Chris Gayle flew back home from the tour of Australia to attend to his ailing mother.
Gayle withdrew from the tour match against Queensland, which began at Allan Border Field Wednesday, just an hour before the toss after hearing the news of his mother being gravely ill and admitted to hospital in Jamaica.
Team Manager Joel Garner said that Gayle was granted time off to be with his mother.
Vice captain Denesh Ramdin will lead the team in Gayle's absence.

Melbourne, Nov 18 : West Indies captain Chris Gayle is likely to miss the entire Australian tour because he is returning to the Caribbean to take care of a seriously ill mother.
The opening batsman was scheduled to play in the opening tour match against Queensland at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane today, but will leave for home immediately.
It is a massive blow to the Windies with the First Test starting in Brisbane next week. West Indies officials could not say whether Gayle would rejoin the tour later.

Wellington, Jan. 14 : West Indies captain Chris Gayle has stormed his way back to the number one place in the Reliance Mobile ICC Player Rankings for ODI batsmen after a series of fine performances against New Zealand.
AN ICC media release said the 29-year-old Jamaican has gained five places in the rankings to knock India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Australia's Michael Hussey down to second and third place.
