London, October 24 : The first wife of John Lennon, Cynthia, has criticised Paul McCartney for divorcing Heather Mills, calling him “stupid”.
Cynthia, 70, whose son Julian was six when the Beatle dumped her for Yoko Ono in 1968, spoke for the first time about the much publicised 24.3million pound divorce.
“She (Heather) became the she-devil and he was stupid,” the Daily Express quoted her as telling The Lady magazine.
“Like me, I think he should have given it more time. He got married and it was fabulous and then the chemistry wasn’t right.

Washington, September 19 : John Lennon''s widow Yoko Ono believes that pop star Britney Spears is a survivor.
"I think she''s a survivor and she''s doing very well," Us magazine quoted her as saying at the ThreeAsFour Homage to Yoko Ono in NYC.
Ono suggested that the ‘Womanizer’ hitmaker’ came back strong after becoming infamous for her psychotic behaviors, drug use, and a custody battle with ex Kevin Federline over her two sons.

London, September 18 : A magazine in which John Lennon had scribbled that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus has been sold for 12,713 US dollars.
In a 17 day online auction run by RR Auction of Amherst, New Hampshire, an orthopaedic surgeon at New York''s Mount Sinai Medical Centre made the winning bid.
The September 1966 issue of Datebook has a photograph of the late musician with his sign "John C Lennon" above it, reports the Daily Express.

The re-staging of the famous couple's stint in bed to promote peace will take place on September 21, on the steps of Nelson's Christ Church Cathedral.
Nelson actor Roger Sanders and his wife Bridget will be playing the part of Lennon and Ono, and they will give other people the opportunity to hop into the bed.

New York, September 7 : A new tape of late singer John Lennon’s interviews has him saying that fellow Beatles member Paul McCartney was the most important person to him apart from his wife.
“I only ever asked two people to work with me as a partner,” the New York Post quoted the Times of London as reporting as to what Lennon said in the tape.
"One was Paul McCartney and the other Yoko Ono. Paul and me were the Beatles," Lennon claims in the tape.

Washington, Aug 31 : John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono has rubbished all criticism heaped on the Beatles Rock Band game, saying her late husband "would have loved it".
Ono said the game would introduce the Beatles’ music to a new generation of fans.

Washington, August 20 : Previously unseen interviews with an angry John Lennon have surfaced, offering insight into what may have caused the Beatles to split.
The singer made a few revelations about the break up when interviewed by Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner, who released the 1970 tapes for rock journalist Mikal Gilmore's Why The Beatles Broke Up article.
The tapes were also released to U. S. TV news show Entertainment Tonight, which recently aired the Beatle's comments, reports Contactmusic.

London, Aug 14 : The unpublished lyrics of late ''Beatle'' John Lennon, believed to have been written about 40 years ago, have gone on display for the first time.
The lyrics, written on a postcard, form part of an exhibition at The Beatles Story in Liverpool, put together by his first wife, Cynthia, and son, Julian.
Lennon''s eldest son bought the lyrics at an auction of memorabilia at Sotheby''s more than 10 years ago, and he has not disclosed how much he paid for the item, but hinted that he could write some music to the words in the future.
New Lennon song may come from ‘beyond his grave’

London, July 25 : A new John Lennon song, inked by the murdered Beatle in the 1960s, may come to the foreground.
The song "Tell Her Now" was said to have been the work of the late singer though no music was ever planned for it.
And now, Lennon's son Julian is working on the music for the track and may publish it.
"I don''t believe the lyrics have been used anywhere," The Sun quoted Julian as saying.
"If the time was right, if it felt right, then I would consider looking at the lyrics and maybe trying to work with them and write something.

Washington, July 25 : A rare naked photo of John Lennon has been put up for online sale for 54,000 dollars.
The photograph, said to be "too graphic to be shown online", is up for grabs on memorabilia website Momentsintime. com
According to the New York Post, the shot is taken from a nude shoot for the Beatle's Two Virgins album, featuring his wife Yoko Ono, reports Contactmusic.
An insider told the NY newspaper that the snap "shows John and Yoko sitting down and looking straight into the camera and smiling."

New York, July 13 : Sir Paul McCartney and John Lennon had come very close to reuniting The Beatles, according to a new book.
In his new book "Paul McCartney: A Life," Peter Ames Carlin says that Macca missed making music with Lennon so much that he made a surprise midnight visit in the spring of 1974 to the Burbank studio where his former band mate was recording, the New York Daily News reports.
The `Imagine' singer was apparently high on cocaine and said while tuning his guitar, "Someone give me an E, or a snort."

The exhibition called John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Bed-In For Peace celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Woodstock festival at Bethel Woods in New York, reports Contactmusic.

London, May 27 : The personalised balcony railings gifted by John Lennon to his beloved Aunt Mimi have been put up for sale.
The late Beatle had purchased the white iron railings bearing seven hearts for Mimi at the time when the band was at its peak in Sixties.
It is believed the rocker came up with the balcony from where Mimi could watch the boats pass by while the hearts were to represent his love for the lady who raised him since he was five.

London, May 22 : A new book has revealed that late Beatles member John Lennon was nearly beaten up by 6ft 4in magician Tommy Cooper, after he made an insulting remark about the latter's wife Gwen.
The incident is reported to have happened at a showbiz soiree hosted by Beatles manager Brian Epstein in August 1964, and in front of guests Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Judy Garland, Dusty Springfield, Jane Asher, Cilla Black, Alma Cogan, Tommy Steele and Lionel Bart.
Yoko Ono to judge haiku contest in London

London, May 20 : John Lennon''s widow Yoko Ono is all set to judge a haiku contest in London.
Haiku is a form of Japanese poetry consisting of seventeen syllables.
Londoners have been challenged to write a haiku about the British summer, and post it on their Twitter. com accounts by May 22.
And Ono, who hails from Japan, will get to decide the winning poem, reports the Daily Express.

Washington, May 13 : John Lennon will be honoured with the performance of his peace anthem Imagine, on the bells of one of the churches in his native Liverpool, England.
Cathedral chiefs had given the thumbs up to the bellringers to perform the particular song despite the number’s controversial line, "Imagine there''s no heaven."
"Allowing Imagine to be pealed on our bells does not mean we agree with the song lyric,” Contactmusic quoted a spokesman as saying.
