Kalyan's party promises nominations for youth

Lucknow, Jan 7 : Rajvir Singh, son of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh, Thursday said their newly formed Jan Kranti Party (JKP) would not discriminate against any religion while distributing tickets and would nominate youths as candidates.
Rajvir, who at the time of launching the party had categorically said his party would follow the Hindutva ideology, told reporters here, "In terms of ticket distribution, our party will not practice discrimination against any religion."

Lucknow, Jan. 5 : Former Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh launched a new political party--Jan Kranti Party—here on Tuesday on his 78th birthday.
This is the second time Kalyan Singh has launched a party within a decade. But announcing the formation of his new party here he said that his son Rajbir Singh will be the party''s national president.
Rajbir is lovingly called Raju Bhaiya.

Lucknow, Jan 5 - Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh announced formation of his new Jan Kranti Party on his birthday Tuesday and said he would work as its "patron".
"I will work as a patron for this party. The party will be led by Rajvir Singh alias Raju Bhaiyya," Singh told reporters.
A former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Kalyan Singh has fallen out with the BJP in recent years. He was loosely associated with the Samajwadi Party during the 2009 general elections. (IANS)

Lucknow, Dec 25 : Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh will declare the formation of a new party on Jan 5, his birthday, the leader said.
Disclosing this in an informal chat with mediapersons, Kalyan Singh said: "I have finally made up my mind to form my own party."
He said: "The details were being worked out and we will soon submit all necessary documents for registration of the party with the Election Commission."
Kalyan Singh is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) turncoat, who has switched sides at least twice over the past decade.

New Delhi, Nov. 24 : Former firebrand BJP leader and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh on Tuesday condemned the Liberhan Commission report, describing it as politically motivated. He denied that the December 6, 1992 demolition of the Babri mosque was orchestrated or pre-planned.
“The report is baseless, meaningless. It stinks of politics, as making accusations against me, Advaniji, Uma Bharti or others could be understood, but the inclusion of Vajpayeeji’s name is condemnable.”

New Delhi, Nov 24 : The Liberhan Commission probing the demolition of the Babri Masjid has hit out at then Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh for embarking on a "pogrom leading up to the events of December 6th 1992" as soon he entered office.
In a scathing indictment of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government headed by Kalyan Singh, the one-man commission said in its report: "Kalyan Singh's government was the essential component needed by the Sangh Parivar for its purposes. Kalyan Singh lived up the expectations of the Parivar".

In a party meeting in Lucknow, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders discussed everything from organisational matters to price rise. They also discussed black-marketing of fertilizers. Everything but the possible return of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh.
Though Singh is eager to come back, his former colleagues seem to stay shy of talking about him in public.
The party’s central leadership hasn’t yet taken a stand on him. Therefore, even if the state’s leaders talk or meet Singh, collectively, he continues to be a political untouchable.

Lucknow, Nov 15 : Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh on Sunday lashed out at Samajawadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav for cheating him and his son and not keeping his word.
Addressing the media here, Singh said: “People asked me not to join hands with Mulayam as he betrays and cheats people and he (Mulayam) has proved that again today,” Singh said.
Singh’s son Rajbir also announced his resignation from the party.

Lucknow, Nov 14 : Having suffered a jolt in recent by election in Uttar Pradesh Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said here on Saturday that, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh was neither with the party and nor he would be inducted into the party.
Speaking to reporters here Mulayam Singh Yadav said: "I have said this in the past and would repeat it again that Kalyan Singh was never in the SP, nor he will be taken in the party fold in the future.”

Lucknow, Nov 14 : Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav Saturday sought to distance himself from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rebel Kalyan Singh but did not blame him for the reverses his party suffered in the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh for which he held the Congress responsible.
"Kalyan Singh was never a part of the Samajwadi Party, nor is he one today and let me also tell you that he will never be allowed to join our party," Mulayam Singh said at a press conference here.

New Delhi, July 2 : Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh today said that he is ready to face charges levelled against him in the Liberhan Commission report.
Speaking to reporters here, Singh said, "I am ready to face whatever charges have been levelled against me. It is untrue that I did not co-operate in the case. I deposed as a witness, and so I expected to be questioned as one as well." "The government should present the report in court as soon as possible," he added.

Lucknow, May 02 : Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh on Saturday blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for keeping him in "dark" about Babri Masjid demolition in 1992.
Claiming that the BJP had hatched a conspiracy against him to throw him out of the party, Singh said, "Senior BJP leaders said no demolition will take place. I believed them... It was a conspiracy against me by the BJP leaders. It was a conspiracy to oust me. I was kept in the dark (about the demolition)."

New Delhi, Feb. 5 : Former Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kalyan Singh on Thursday took upon himself the "total" responsibility for Babri Masjid's demolition, as the then chief minister of Uttar Pradesh in 1992.
"I want to state that the incident that took place on December 6, 1992 in Ayodhya... I own total responsibility for it. I had even resigned from chief minister post on the same day," Kalyan Singh told media after a three-hour meeting with SP leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh at his residence here.

Lucknow, Feb 2, : The Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday said that he had never given former Bharatiya Janata Party leader a clean chit in the Babri Mosque demolition.
Mulayam Singh recalled that Kalyan Singh had already taken moral responsibility for the demolition when he stepped down as chief minister on December 6, 1992.
He clarified his relations with Kalyan Singh and said, "There is no alliance with Kalyan Singh, its only friendship which have no conditions."

Kalyan Singh met SP leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh here, and announced that he would be electioneering for the `cycle symbol' in the Lok Sabha polls scheduled to be held in March -April this year.
However, Mulayam Singh Yadav said that his (Kalyan's) decision is only based on the friendship that the two of them share, and it should not be looked as any political alliance.
"He (Kalyan) will campaign for me only as a friendly gesture. This is new friendship not an electoral alliance," said Singh.

Lucknow, Jan. 20 : The Bharatiya Janata Party lost another stalwart on Tuesday in the form of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh.
Singh resigned from the party, complaining of humiliation and suffocation. He claimed that he should have been accorded the respect that leaders with a huge public following deserve.
Addressing journalists in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, Singh opted to publicly explain his agony through media.
