Rajasthan HC issues notice to Lalit Modi in cheating caseJaipur, Apr 24 : The Rajasthan High Court on Friday issued a notice to IPL Chairman Lalit Modi in connection with alleged forgery in issuing a cheque of Rs six crore to the Chief Minister Relief Fund for disbursement among victims of May 13 Jaipur serial blasts.

A single bench comprising Justice S P Pathak on issued notice to Modi to explain why his bail should not be cancelled for leaving the country without its permission.

BCCI to decide on IPL host by Tuesday night: Modi

Indian Premier League (IPL) Commissioner Lalit ModiNew Delhi, Mar 24 : The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to decide on the venue to host the Indian Premier League (IPL) season two matches by Tuesday night.

Shortly before leaving for Johannesburg on Monday, IPL Chairman Lalit Modi told a news channel in Mumbai, "We need to take a decision by tomorrow, one way or the other and we will have a decision by tomorrow night."

No possibility to host IPL semis and final in India: Modi

"We explored all possibilities of hosting the semifinals and final in India. But it would have been too exhausting for the players," Modi said.

The Twenty20 is expected to be held in England from April 10 to May 24.

No IPL matches on day of counting: Lalit ModiNew Delhi, Mar 6 : Indian Premier League (IPL) Commissioner Lalit Modi on Friday said that there would be no IPL matches on the day of counting of votes.

Modi said a new schedule would be released soon, adding that they were working on a schedule, which was a "cumbersome process".

"We will shortly have a new schedule out," Modi told reporters here.

Stressing that the tournament was on, he said: "We want to assure our fans that the IPL is on. There is no question of the IPL moving to a foreign country".

Required to get 17 votes to secure a win in the election with majority, Modi could manage just 13 of the total 32 votes. Dixit, on the other hand, bagged 18 votes.
