Mumbai, Feb 3 - Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, who was the victim of an online death hoax, has tweeted that she is hale and hearty.
"Namaskar. Please don't believe any rumours which are doing the rounds about my health and well-being. All is well, by the grace of god," the 82-year-old Lata wrote on her Twitter page.
Internet was abuzz with rumours Thursday that the singer had passed away. Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar also urged the twitterati to stop spreading false rumours.

New Delhi, Sep 28: Lata Mangeshkar says she is proud of her younger brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar in whose name a lifetime achievement award has been instituted to mark his 75th year in the industry.
"Namaskar... On my birthday, an award has been instituted on my brother's name Hridaynath and it is called 'Hridaynath Award'. This award will be given to all those people who have done commendable job in their respective field. I am congratulating him and giving all my blessings to Hridaynath that an award is named after him. I am very happy for him," Lata posted on Twitter.

New Delhi, June 27 : Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar Monday remembered the late R. D. Burman on his 72nd birth anniversary, recalling the first time she met the composer and the many "amazing songs" they recorded together.
"I remember the day when a 13-14 years old boy came to me asking for my autograph, it was R. D. Burman. His father S. D. Burman introduced me to him and said he was learning sarod. This was the first time I met R. D. Burman," Lata posted on the microblogging site Twitter.

Dubai, Apr 24 : UAE-based Indian-origin doctor Mandar Bichu has published a book on legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, encompassing her six-decade-long enigmatic career.
“Lata, Voice of the Golden Era, is the first time that the six-decade-long career of the songstress has been analysed comprehensively. Lata is in the Guinness Book of World Records for singing 26,000 songs. Lata traces her career from music composers Anil Biswas to AR Rahman," said the doctor,” the Gulf News quoted Dr Bichu, as saying.

Mumbai, April 3 : Singing legend Lata Mangeshkar says she was sure that India would lift the World Cup Saturday.
"I was confident that India will win the World Cup. I would like to congratulate the whole Indian team and the country for this win," Lata told a news channel.
The 88-year-old, who is a great admirer of Sachin Tendulkar, said: "Sachin toh desh ka Kohinoor hai. (Sachin is the jewel of India)."
India beat Sri Lanka by six wickets at the Wankhede Stadium Saturday to replicate their 1983 World Cup triumph.
Lata to pray for India's victory

Mumbai, April 1 : Legendry singer Lata Mangeshkar will pray for India's victory against Sri Lanka in Saturday's cricket World Cup final at the Wankhede Stadium here, a family source said.
"Lataji did not eat a morsel during India's semifinal match against Pakistan," the source said Friday. "It was only after India won that she had her dinner."
"She will pray for the Indian team's victory tomorrow (Saturday)," the source added.
A cricket fan, Mangeshkar is planning to watch the final clash in the comfort of her home.

Mumbai, Dec. 3 : Legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar was conferred with the Officer de la Légion d''Honneur (Officer of the Legion of honour) medal, the highest French decoration, at a glittering function here on Wednesday.
The medal, created by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802, is awarded for exemplary service in military or civilian life. The award can be conferred on a French national or a foreigner for outstanding contributions in their field of work.
Mangeshkar was conferred with the award for her incredible contribution to Indian music.

Indore, Sept 28 : Fans here today celebrated the 80th birth anniversary of Lata Mangeshkar, the ''Queen of melody''.
Suman Chaurasia, who has a collection of over 28,000 albums of the singer, which he has turned into a museum, cut birthday cake along with children.
"This museum has collection of her songs beginning from 1932 till 1990. We have published a book taking into account 80 best songs. Today, we are dedicating it to her," said Chaurasia.

The song ‘Daata Sun Maula Sun’ composed by ace music director Shamir Tandon deals with the lives of prisoners.
