The theme of waking up one day to realise that you have been living a life not of free will, but controlled by someone else, has been the staple diet of science fiction. And indeed "The Adjustment Bureau" was a story by the master of sci-fi, Philip K. Dick, titled "The Adjustment Team".

But to see it transformed into a love story is delightful for both romance and sci-fi fans, despite its shortcomings.

American actor Matt Damon, whose upcoming movie True Grit is releasing this week, has been facing quite a lot questions these days because of his character's name in the film. Damon's character's name is Texas Ranger La Boeuf, which sounds quite similar to young American comedian Shia LaBeouf.

Hollywood actor Matt Damon has revealed in a statement to the media that his wife is pregnant and that he is very excited to play the role of a father to a baby girl. The Academy Award winner says that what makes him all the more happy is the fact that it is a girl, adding that he cannot wait to set eyes upon her. Matt Damon is married to Luciana Barrosa and the couple already share two children of their own, as well as a daughter from Luciana’s previous marriage. Matt Damon announced that he is “thrilled” to be a father yet again.

London, Oct 22 : American actor Matt Damon’s stepsister has revealed that she was left stunned when she landed an audition for a role in his new movie and was told that she would be playing his lover.

Model-turned-actress Sarah Bradford, 22, who had grown up with Damon, 39, after her mother and his father married, was shocked when casting bosses told her she would have to jump into bed with her sibling.

London, Oct 21 : Actor Matt Damon, who featured in the "Bourne" trilogy, now refuses such offers because he doesn't want to act in films with excessive violence.

The actor says he gets worried that the action sequences may affect people's real-life actions, reports imdb. com.

‘The Departed’ star who has acted for the likes of Martin Scorsese and Steven Soderbergh in his 12-year long career insisted that he has been learning the nuances of filmmaking.

"I can''t wait to direct. I choose my movies based on the director and so I''ve been treating the last 12 years like a film school,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

London, Oct 10 - Genealogy experts have discovered that good friends actor-director Ben Affleck and Hollywood star Matt Damon are 10th cousins.

The actors are childhood friends from the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, and found fame together starring alongside each other in a number of movies, and winning an Oscar each for their 1997 screenplay "Good Will Hunting".

Damon, famous for his action roles in the Bourne series, has agreed to take up the demanding role.

The Sun quoted helmer Steven Soderbergh as saying: "Matt accepted the challenge."

Washington, Sep 17 : Matt Damon was so unwilling to confess that he had put on weight that he thought George Clooney was playing a prank on him by paying someone to alter all his clothes so they did not fit.

The actor, who put on 30lbs for his role in new movie ''The Informant!'', said that he did not realise that he could not fit into his clothes anymore.

"I have the opposite of anorexia. I look in the mirror and I think I look great,” Contactmusic quoted him as having told MTV News.

Washington, September 15 : Matt Damon has revealed that he talked to Hollywood legend Robert De Niro to seek help in gaining weight for his new film ‘The Informant’.

‘The Departed’ star was conscious of how De Niro had piled on pounds for his film ‘Raging Bull’.

"I talked to (Robert) De Niro before I did it and he had obviously piled on the pounds really famously for Raging Bull, putting on 60 pounds,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

Washington, Sep 12 : ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ actor Matt Damon has revealed that he fears he and Brad Pitt may be responsible for a man stripping and propositioning their co-star George Clooney at a recent press conference, after they joked about him being secretly gay.

Clooney, 48, was promoting his new comedy ‘The Men Who Stare at Goats’ on September 8 at Italy’s Venice Film Festival, when a stripper posing as a journalist professed his love for the Hollywood star.

London, Aug 31 : Oscar winning actor Matt Damon is all set to receive an honour for his contribution to the world of cinema.

According to Variety, the actor will be presented the American Cinematheque Award at a ceremony next March, reports the Daily Express.

However, now Curmudgeon Films has taken over the project, and it intends to stick with ''''The Departed'''' star.

"I definitely got doughy. I started eating like crazy and drinking dark beer. Between meals on set, I''d eat a No. 1 Value Meal at McDonald''s and then Doritos on top of it. It was absolute heaven," the Daily Express quoted him as telling the New York Daily News.

Washington, July 15 : Matt Damon has launched a new charity campaign to provide millions of impoverished people with clean drinking water.

The `Bourne Ultimatum' star is the co-founder of Water. org alongside humanitarian Gary White.

Under the collaboration, Damon''s existing water charity, H20 Africa, will merge with White''s WaterPartners to become one non-profit organisation.

And with his campaign the actor is trying to provide access to clean water to 890 million people across Africa and Asia.

Abrams revealed that Matt was his first choice for the starring role of Kirk - but he is glad to have been given the chance to subsequently hire little known actor Chris Pine.
